Frequently asked questions

Why is the font size a percentage?

A percentage of the image size keeps the watermark looking the same on an 800 px thumbnail and a 4000 px photo — a fixed pixel size would look huge on small images and invisible on large ones.

When should I tile the watermark?

Tiling is for images you expect to be reposted without credit — product previews, portfolio pieces, stock mockups. A single corner mark is subtler and better for blog images.

Does adding a watermark reduce quality?

Photos are re-encoded once at JPG quality 92, which is visually lossless for normal viewing. PNG output is lossless.
